Page 13: LenaeĀ

On October 14th, 2015 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl via c -section. She was 5 pounds 6.5 ounces. Ever since that day, my life has drastically changed for the better. Becoming a mother was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made. To actually hold someone so precious in your arms is an awesome experience. We named her Lenae. She is smart, friendly, healthy, active and beautiful. Lenae brings great joy to my life and heaven must be missing an angel. šŸ˜‡ I spend every moment of my time with her and even that isn’t enough. She is a breastfeeding baby so she is very attached to me. When my husband is around, she totally ignores me and melts in his arms. Lenae seems to be a daddy’s girl and i must admit that I am a little jealous. She’s 3 months now and growing really fast. I’m beginning to identify certain personality traits in her already.

Page 12: New chapter

I am sorry for my two month hiatus. I have recently discovered that I am pregnant and expecting a little one this Fall. Yay! I was totally shocked when my result came back positive.  My husband was very happy, confused and afraid all at once. ( more on that later) but I’ve managed to make it throughout my first semester. Oh my word! It was horrible. I was always sick. I didn’t even recognize who I was for nearly two months. My body was being controlled by something or someone else.  I had no say in the matter. Now that that phase is over I’m regaining control of my emotions and my energy. I’m feeling much better and I’m looking forward to sharing this new chapter with you.

Page 11: The Fog

This morning, we woke up to the sight of thick, grey fog covering the land. There was a eerie calm, the silence was deafening and the sun was nowhere to be found. It give me the feeling of a horror film called “The Fog”. The hair on the back of my neck began to stand up as I walked toward the car. The headlights this morning were definitely necessary. We could see the shadowy figures of hikers and joggers along the street. ( why would they risk their lives like this) I could barely see more than 5 feet in front of me. The drive to the dock was slow and risky. As the sun tried to burst its way through, the fog continuously choked it. The airport was open but all flights were grounded until further notice. As I watched my husband get on the ferry to Harbour island, the boat seemed to float on the clouds. All was calm, it was beautiful. It glided majestically across the white water, leaving ripples behind. On the journey back home, the sun has managed to break free from its foggy grave. It was shining gloriously. The bees were buzzing, the trees dancing from the gentle breeze. The nightmare was over, the fog had lifted.

Page 10: It’s Raining!

It’s raining and ya darn skippy I’m happy! I’m happy because the cantaloupe, honeydew and bell pepper seeds that I planted recently will spring soon. I have what they call a “green thumb” and I love gardening. Well…truth is….my rosemary plant recently died but other than that, I’m pretty good at it. I have no idea where I went wrong with the rosemary. :/ Can you help? I can almost taste those juicy, sweet melons this summer. (Take your mind off the sexual stuff please. This blog is G rated) hahaha… The farmers in my area have been praying for rain for a while now. I just wanna do a rain dance. After a beautiful sunrise, the rain came quickly. The sky is now dark and heavy sheets of rain are falling from the sky. I love the sound that’s against my window. It’s so relaxing. I think I’m going to take a nap soon. There is a faint sound of thunder in the distance.

Page 9: Snow or Sunshine?

As a child I always wanted to experience a “white Christmas” or be able to ski or sled or build a snowman. I remember on my 8th birthday (July) I wished it would snow. See, I’m from The Bahamas…..yea….that pretty much sums it up right? I’ve never played in the snow. I saw it briefly while shopping in NY but that’s it. šŸ˜¦ I live in a tropical paradise. I was flipping through the channels the other day and realized that there were snow storms bashing parts of the US. I thought wow, here I am complaining about our 68 degree weather we had the other night. I had on socks, a tam, warm pj, 2 blankets, and my hubby to keep me warm that night. I had to seriously rethink my desire to be in the snow. We are so blessed here to have such lovely weather. It’s like spring and summer time here in the Bahamas 365 days a year. We’ll we do get a hurricane now and again but that’s a thought for another time.

Page 8: The Signs Of Spring

This morning I was awaken by the sound of our teapot whistling. I stretched, got out of bed and headed for the bathroom. I headed to the kitchen to find my husband having tea and a whole wheat sandwich. I peered through the window, the sun was beginning to creep fromĀ behind the clouds. It was time to take my husband to work.
From our balcony, I could smell the flowers. The grass was still wet from the dew and it made my toes slippery as I walked to the car. I could hear the sound of bees. Yes, bees. There was a loud buzzing in the air. I told my husband and we realized that every flowering plant had bees on them. They were pollinating the fruit trees and flowers. My husband looks at me excitedly and we both shouted “Spring”. Spring is soon to come and I could hardly wait. The birds are chirping melodiously and the bees are busy at work. I’m anticipating the mangoes this year. They have already revealed their immature selves. I will be patient. Oh and I saw goats grazing todayimage
